McKinney Appointed to ACGME Institutional Review Committee

In honor of Women’s History Month, we would like to share special congratulations to Katherine McKinney, MD, on her recent appointment to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Institutional Review Committee. Dr. McKinney serves as the associate dean for graduate medical education and ACGME Designated Institutional Official. She has provided great assistance transitioning the college’s residencies and fellowships to the Next Accreditation System and support overseeing UK’s ACGME Clinical Learning Environment Review site visits.

Serving on the Institutional Review Committee is a tremendous opportunity for Dr. McKinney and will offer the college greater insight and understanding for our own accreditation needs. “My membership on the ACGME Institutional Review Committee is exciting not only because it’s an incredible opportunity for learning and collaboration but also because it allows UK to contribute to the evolving GME accreditation landscape,” said Dr. McKinney.

The ACGME is a private, not-for-profit organization that sets standards for U.S. graduate medical education (residency and fellowship) programs and the institutions.
