Alumni may request an official transcript be sent to other institutions or organizations. An official hard copy transcript is printed on security paper and cannot be duplicated. It includes and embossed College of Medicine seal. An official transcript may also be sent electronically, if needed. Individual transcripts are provided at no charge.
Verification of Medical Education
The Registrar provides verification of medical education for alumni. Only the most basic information (enrollment and graduation dates) are released without written permission of the student/alumnus. Medical licensing authorities for each state, and facilities that employ physicians, have their own forms and procedures for verification of medical education. The Registrar will respond to all verification requests within one week of receiving the request, provided that there are no outstanding financial obligations.
Note that no information or educational records will be released if the alumnus has an outstanding financial obligation to the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
In addition to completing verification forms and filling transcript requests, the Registrar can provide copies of Dean’s Letters/MSPEs for all alumni, and certified copies of diplomas for the class of 1981 through today. Prior to 1981, copies were not retained, however alumni from earlier classes may send copies of their diplomas for certification.
