Despite Resilient’s best efforts to prevent students from feeling down, alone and stressed, there will come a time in every medical student's journey where they become stressed and wore down. Feeling overwhelmed is NOT a sign of weakness, but instead a sign that something should be done.
Students serve as impartial, active listeners. They will be available to listen and 'vent' about tests or attendings or classwork. These Peer Supports make no promise to solve your problems and are specifically instructed against giving advice. They will listen and affirm.
M4 Chat Line
The M4 Chat Line is staffed at all times by fourth year medical students who are mostly removed from classwork and the third year clinical clerkships. They to listen and provide a perspective of someone who has walked through similar challenges.
