Assessment and Quality Management

The Office of Assessment and Quality Management aims to improve the quality of medical education through the provision of assessment and evaluation services to the faculty, students, and educational leadership of the College of Medicine.

Assessment and Quality Management supports the undergraduate medical curriculum with these services:

• administration of examination services (both objective and performance-based), including the annual Clinical Performance Examination (CPX) given to medical students who have just completed their third-year curriculum;
• course and faculty evaluation services (providing end-course summaries and annual reports) for all required medical courses; and
• medical education research projects, consultation, grant-related activities, and other support services.

The division also assists personnel in the other UK Medical Center colleges with program and faculty evaluation related to continuing education, surveys, and consultation on evaluation, accreditation processes, and educational research.
